Riverset Credit Union Management Team

Christine Chojnicki, President and CEO of Riverset Credit Union, has spent her entire career spanning over 30 years in the financial industry. She began her tenure with the credit union in 1979 in a part-time capacity with Pittsburgh Teachers Credit Union, the predecessor of Riverset.

Chris had been appointed as the credit union's manager prior to being promoted to the President/CEO in 1999. Under her direction, Riverset transitioned into a full service, community financial institution and grew from 6 million to presently 125 million in assets, the 8th largest credit union in the Pittsburgh area.

April 2010 marked Riverset's official rollout as a three-county community chartered credit union. With Chris's leadership, Riverset continues to demonstrate its committment to the community by regularly participating in volunteerism events benefitting a number of organizations in our region.

Ms. Chojnicki earned her Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) designation in 2000. She has served as a member of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association State Credit Union Advisory Committee from inception and was recently appointed to the Education Task Force in 2010. Her education also includes an Associate in Science degree from Community College of Allegheny County.

She is a life-long resident of Pittsburgh and presently resides in the South Hills.

Edward Rusnak, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Riverset Credit Union has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial industry. He began his career with the credit union in 2007 as Controller of Pittsburgh Teachers Credit Union, the predecessor of Riverset.

Ed was promoted to Riverset's VP/Chief Financial Officer in April of 2010. While his previous experience includes time spent working in credit unions, over twenty years of his tenure is specific to the banking industry.  Ed served as Controller/Interim Chief Financial Officer for the former Great American Federal Savings Bank. He is a principal member of the executive leadership team.

Ed serves on the Board of Directors for Keystone Lending Alliance (KLA), an indirect lending credit union service organization owned in part by Riverset and four other credit unions in the Pittsburgh region.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, Ed presently resides in the South Hills. He enjoys spending time with his daughter and is an avid runner.

Lisa A. Florian, Director of Business Development and Marketing of Riverset Credit Union, has over 10 years’ experience in the financial industry. She began her career with the credit union in 2006 as Business Development Officer of Pittsburgh Teachers Credit Union, the predecessor of Riverset.

In October 2009, in addition to business development, Ms. Florian's responsibilities expanded to include marketing and public relations. Prior to joining Riverset, she worked for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) where she was hired as an Account Executive and progressed to the position of Vice President of Business Development. Her past experience also includes working as a branch manager for the former National City Bank.

Lisa plays an integral role in the credit union's volunteerism and community relations efforts. She has volunteered her time to teach financial literacy and has been a member of as well as chaired a number of committees, advisory boards and fundraising campaigns for organizations in the Pittsburgh region. She has also served on the Pittsburgh Chapter of Credit Unions Board since 2007 in the capacity of Secretary, President and currently Vice President. She is a member of the Credit Union National Association Marketing and Business Development Council; has been chosen as a judge for the 2012 Credit Union Executive Society Golden Mirror Awards and  has received numerous state and national marketing awards on behalf of the credit union.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Washington and Jefferson College and earned her Masters of Business Administration from Robert Morris University.

She, her husband Jason and their two sons, Nicholas and Nathan, reside in the South Hills.

Kelly A. Friedl, Director of Operations of Riverset Credit Union, has over 10 years’ experience in the financial industry. Ms. Friedl began her career with the credit union in 2000 as a Teller of Pittsburgh Teachers Credit Union, the predecessor of Riverset.

Since joining the Riverset team, Ms. Friedl has served in various positions and received a number of promotions within the Operations area. Prior to becoming Director of Operations, Ms. Friedl was the credit union's Branch Operations Officer. In addition to overseeing the daily operations, she is a member of the management team and plays an integral role in the credit union's strategic planning process.

Ms. Friedl's previous professional experience includes working as an Accounting Representative at USX FCU as well as retail management.

Kelly is actively involved in the credit union's volunteerism initiatives. She has taken part in events to support Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity and many other charitable organizations. She also serves as the Treasurer/ Board member for the Pittsburgh Chapter of Credit Unions and is a member of the Credit Union National Association Operations Sales and Service Council.

Kelly holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Butler County Community College and is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership at Robert Morris University.

She is a life-long resident of the Freeport area and continues to reside there with her family.

Emily Ribar, Director of Human Resources of Riverset Credit Union, has over 20 years’ experience in the Human Resource field and 7 in the financial industry. She began her career as Human Resource Development Director of Pittsburgh Teachers Credit Union, the predecessor of Riverset.

Prior to joining Riverset, she worked for various Fortune One and Fortune Five Hundred manufacturing organizations in the areas of: Training, Development, Recruiting, and Equal Employment Opportunity. Her past experience includes her early years as a teacher in private and public school systems in Western Pennsylvania. Her professional career experience in Training includes the design, development and facilitation of numerous soft skills, regulatory, professional development courses and computer based training.

Ms. Ribar is a core member of the management team and is responsible for all staff learning and growth initiatives as well as executive development.

Ms. Ribar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Slippery Rock University and a Masters in Human Development and Education Technology Leadership from George Washington University. Additionally, Ms. Ribar has graduate credits from the following universities: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania State and Hope College, Michigan (studying abroad in Dubrovnik, Croatia).

She is a member of The Society of Human Resource Management and the Pittsburgh Human Resource Association.

Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, she resides in Beaver, Pennsylvania and has one married daughter and three grandchildren.
