JOB TITLE:  Accounting Analyst
CLASSIFICATION:  Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
Evaluate, develop and revise current policies and procedures specific to accounting areas to ensure compliance and execute duties specific to accounting and certain reporting processes. The position requires excellent organizational and time management skills to perform essential functions of this job. Analysis of current accounting processes with an emphasis on streamlining routines, plus development of essential secondary reporting and analysis.

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Ability to perform and complete tasks with general supervision and adhere to expected service level expectation. Ability to handle multiple projects, multitask and manage multiple priorities and deadlines with the flexibility of handling both Accounting and Reporting areas of the organization. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Advanced proficiency computer skills required including Microsoft Office, MCIF, and accounting platforms

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in month end closing process and reporting.
  • Prepares financial reports; ensures complete/accurate financial, statistical, and accounting records of the Credit Union. 
  • Work with our MCIF system to ensure timely and accurate data
  • Research, analyze and compile relevant statistics and information to align with the organization’s strategic plan
  • Analyze HMDA reporting data and submissions
  • Utilize analytical software to improve quality of data
  • Develop recurring accounting and branch reports
  • Utilize Raddon reports and statistics to support improvements for products, services and processes and keep senior management informed regarding key departmental issues.
  • Recommends change where appropriate.  Assesses risk potential of current procedures and institute new procedures that minimize loss exposure.
  • Analyze GL usage and develop controls and reports
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE:   Three years + of similar or related experience.  Experience in a Credit Union, auditing firm, consulting firm, or other Financial Institution preferred.
EDUCATION:   A college degree is required.  Preferred degrees in Accounting, or Finance.  MBA and/or CPA is a bonus but not required.

Job Title:  Audit & Compliance Manager
Department:  Exempt

Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the policies and procedures at Riverset comply with all related laws and regulations. Analyze new and pending laws that could directly affect the Credit Union's current practices. Evaluate, develop and revise current policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Recommend policy changes to senior leadership that will facilitate the Credit Union’s compliance program, reduce risk, and reflect changes in regulations. Update and disseminate information concerning laws and regulations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes new and pending laws which will affect the Credit Union's current operations, evaluates, develops and periodically reviews and updates the policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, notifies all affected parties of changes and the new procedures adopted.
  • Recommends change where appropriate.  Assesses risk potential of current procedures and institute new procedures that minimize loss exposure.
  • Maintains comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the business   and ensures compliance in the areas of responsibility.  This also includes BSA (Bank Secrecy Act).
  • Develops and implements a compliance program to effectively review Credit Union for compliance. Performs follow up to ensure new procedures are understood and implemented.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, accurate manner.  Acts as subject matter expert for the Credit Union on all compliance-related issues.
  • Assist compliance examiners, auditors, regulators with their examinations.  Provide informed, professional, accurate service and support to all members and associates.
  • Coordinates projects that involve information disclosure and policy changes to inform staff of procedures that must be complied with, develops and facilitates compliance training programs.
  • Assist in the revision and/or design of forms, products, web site, programs, or promotions to ensure compliance with all State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a library of compliance resources to enable employees to educate themselves in relevant areas.
  • Ensure that any change in policy or procedure is communicated to impacted departments, or the organization as a while, with clarity.  Follow up to ensure new procedures are understood and implemented.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to newly hired employees and seasoned staff members.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of record retention policies and procedures in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Experience:
Three to five years of similar or related experience. Experience in a Credit Union or other Financial Institution preferred.

Education:
A college degree is required.  Accounting Degrees preferred.  Advanced degree/CPA a plus.

Interpersonal Skills:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills:
Excellent oral and written skills required. Above average computer skills required including Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel and various report writing skills

Work Environment:
Fast paced general office environment with usually moderate noise.  Employee may have to manage a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of members, co-workers and management.  Employee will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to perform essential functions of this job.  May be required to work evenings and weekends.
